Sofovir belongs to a class of medicines called direct-acting antivirals (DAAs).
It works by inhibiting the NS5B polymerase enzyme, which is essential for viral RNA replication.
By blocking this enzyme, Sofovir helps the immune system clear the infection and prevents the virus from reproducing further.
