Hepcvir belongs to a class of drugs called direct-acting antivirals (DAAs).
Sofosbuvir works by blocking the RNA polymerase enzyme (NS5B) that the Hepatitis C virus needs to multiply. This stops the virus from reproducing inside the body and gradually clears the infection.
